Autumn Open 2002

The Bayou Boys Bass Busters held the 2002 Autumn Open on Sunday, August 25, in Des Allemands. The tournament turned out to be an outstanding success.

The creels of bass brought to the scales were plentiful and the weights were heavy, heavier than most people expected. In fact, if a team was not coming in with a creel that would weigh in double digits, they would not finish in the top twelve.

Forty-one teams came out the morning of the 80% payback Open. Of the forty-one, thirty-one managed to bring some fish to the scales. Twenty-one teams brought in 5 bass limits.

All in all, 137 bass were brought to the scales for a total weight of 283 lbs. 2 oz. Six dead bass were brought to the scales and one other was lost to the extreme heat of a Louisiana August.

When all was said and done, it took 18 lbs even to take the first place crown and . Congratulations to Chad Clement and Steve Clement for catching the impressive creel of hawgs. The catch is believed to have come from the Lake Beouf area.

Second place, and , went to Stephen Trosclair and Lynn Kraemer, coming in just 6 oz. behind first with a stringer of 17 lbs. 10 oz.
